Russia fines Google an Amount Surpassing the World’s Total Wealth.

A Russian court has ordered Google to pay a hefty fine for allegedly banning Russian state media on YouTube. It is difficult to calculate whether the amount of the fine is too much.

International media BBC reported that the Russian court on October 28 decided a fine of 2.5 billion rubles, i.e. 25 decillion US dollars. There are 36 zeros after 1 in 1 billion.

In other words, the Russian court ordered Google to pay a fine of 20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 US dollars.

This amount of money is not enough to sell Google’s entire assets, but it is also more than the total world GDP.

The total GDP of the world is estimated to be only 100 trillion dollars. The court has given Google a deadline of 9 months to pay the fine.

If the payment is not made within 9 months, the fine will be doubled daily, the court said.

The Russian court’s decision to impose a fine that is difficult to calculate comes after a four-year legal battle against Google. Google banned some Russian media, including Russian government media.

Google removed Zargrad, a Russian nationalist channel, from YouTube. The US also banned the head of the Jargrad channel. Then, the media filed a case against Google in court.

A Russian court has ordered Google to release the banned channels. It also said that Google would enter the Russian market only after paying the fine.
